"Don't buy into the old argument that Mac laptops are categorically more expensive than Windows machines. Sometimes that's true--but they're often on par with, or cost less than, their closest Windows laptop equivalents."
PCWorld set out some head-to-head comparisons of just actually how 'expensive' Macs are compared to similarly branded PCs. You'd be surprised at the results. It's not the 'astronomically expensive' as many perceive it to be.

What Apple Macs have that most people don't realize is that they may cost more on the face value, but aside from the specification, it has so much intrinsic value to offer in software that are included, like iphoto: face recognition, photo sorting, and ability to generate albums so easily; iMovie & iDVD allows you to make your own beutiful home video and DVD in mere minutes; iGarage brings out the music genius in you; and iTunes lets you sort your music & rip your existing CD collections, and then it all works together very well!It is very wonnderful to use.
Just like how well a car drives it cannot be described properly into specifications
