Buried in the beta iPhone 3.0 firmware are references to voice command systems, say sources experienced with the code.

The technology is currently labeled under the codename "Jibbler," and said to be attached to Springboard, the software component which launches iPhone apps. Unfamiliar classes and methods discovered in the iPhone 3.0 beta include VSSpeechSynthesizer, VSRecognitionSession, SBVoiceControlDisableHandlerActions, SBSensitiveJibblerEnabled and SBVoiceControlSoundCompletion.
